I know the blog has been a little neglected in the last couple of weeks. Micah has been busy on some behind-the-scenes things. (We think comments are working again!) I actually have three half-finished posts in the queue, just need to polish them off and post them up. :) Here's part one of our vacation from a few weeks ago...
We had a wonderful vacation to the Gulf Coast and and would like to share.
Our journey began with a stop off in Atlanta...
We stayed in a four-star hotel in downtown Atlanta that I booked on Priceline for half the regular cost.
In the morning we headed over to the Georgia Aquarium. Micah and Charlotte are both fish-lovers, so this was an obvious choice for our family. It was CROWDED, but we enjoyed ourselves. Some neat exhibits!
We finished off our Atlanta adventure by trying some gourmet doughnuts from Sublime Doughnuts. Yum! (If you go to their website the video of a guy making doughnuts in fast-motion is pretty cool.)
Smores, Chocolate Wild Berry Fritter, A-town Mocha, Orange Dream Star
Then we continued our journey down to Orange Beach, Alabama.

So, I made some changes to the comment system last week that made posting comments break sometimes. It has all been fixed up!

In lieu of a longer post (who has time for those anyway???), here is a list of happy things.
- I made my first batch ever of freezer jam this weekend. It isn't perfect, but it's good. I'm glad I tried it.
- I dressed up today. It's nice to dress up and feel pretty.
- We went to see Kung Fu Panda 2 at an outdoor movie showing last night. It was fun!
- We ate out today at Evos. I like that place.
- Family roughhousing and playing in tents makes my heart happy.
- This is a cool article for parents and teachers of young kids.
- Charlie wakes up in the morning, playing and singing a song to herself. The only discernible word in the song is "happy." She just repeats happy-happy-happy again and again. If that's not a happy thing, I'm not sure what is.
- I just had to look up the spelling for the word discernible. Totally wanted to spell it with an "a."
- I cleaned my kitchen. Only to get it messy again by making delicious food. Oops.
- Micah put Charlotte to bed so that I could finish homework.
- My homework is DONE!

I have a summer class so I don't get to go to the Farmer's Markets on Tuesdays for a while. Micah went for me and picked up the following:
Veggie CSA:
Squash (2 kinds), potatoes, red onions, cucumbers, kale
Other Farmer's Market stuff:
Peaches!!!
I'm feeling a little unsure about this week's meals, but I think this is what we'll wind up with:
Meals:
- Kale-Potato-Leek Soup
- Some sort of stuffed squash- maybe ricotta stuffed squash?
- Cucumber sandwiches
- Thai-style Pork Stew
Dessert:
- Peach cobbler
- Peach freezer jam
