I went back to doing work today. Charlotte went to her second day of school since we've been back from Indiana. When I picked her up from school, I was happy to see her gleefully playing on the seesaw. As we left the playground, she said goodbye to her friends. As we passed her teacher, Charlotte called, "I hope you feel better!"
Huh? Her teacher asked what Charlotte had said, and I repeated Charlotte's phrase. Her teacher replied, "Oh, I was sad earlier because I lost a puzzle piece. The kids have been taking good care of me today. Thanks, Charlotte." Then we went inside, and Charlotte said, "I need go toilet." To the toilet we went.
On the way home, we went to the carwash. Charlotte was very excited about the "washcloth" and was very interested in the suds all around the car. For the rest of the car ride she thought about how to tell Daddy about the washcloth.
We ate dinner as a family, then Char and Daddy played with a coin sorter. After sorting coins, I settled down with my little girl for a movie. Rather than watching the unexpectedly dramatic documentary about turtles, we cuddled up and watched Tangled. Then we ate a snack, read several books, and a tired girl lay down for bed.
It was a simple day, not extraordinary. But it was a good day.
