We recently took Charlotte to a chinese buffet. This is a good chinese buffet- nothing particularly fancy, but a really wide variety of all sorts of typical american-chinese fare.
Charlotte can be a picky eater, meaning eating out can be tricky. We always want to order her food, but ordering for her is always a gamble. We might order her, say, chicken fingers, since she loved them last time. Then we find ourselves with a pile of chicken fingers that she won't touch, as she inhales plain ketchup. Which makes a buffet kind of awesome.
What a wide variety of food! Thank you, dear parents!
This venture was particularly awesome because Charlotte is 2, meaning her meal was free. I dig free.
Charlotte also opened her first fortune cookie. Her technique was quite interesting. When I open a fortune cookie, I crack it, then pull the fortune out. Charlotte carefully and methodically peeled the cookie away, bit by bit, until only the fortune remained.
And her fortune...
Okay, back to work for me! Unless Charlotte's new business venture starts paying dividends REALLY soon.

The backside of the fortune is a bit suspicious; maybe it's telling her to be a panhandler in China...

Or it could be teaching her the first valuable phrase she'll be telling Micah and Christine for the rest of their lives.
