Charlotte is growing by leaps and bounds. It is amazing to look at her and see the little lady she is becoming.
Though she has expressed interest in feeding herself in the past, she now adores taking the spoon from us and feeding herself. She carefully puts the spoon into the bowl and brings it to her mouth. She gets really messy this way, but that's part of the learning process. Last week she fed herself oatmeal, peas, cereal, yogurt, and chili. On the chili day we just stripped her down before getting started.
She is also building her vocabulary. Charlotte now says "ball," "done," "down," and "drink." She has all of the words she said before, and the additional, extraordinarily cute vocab word "belly button." She will often proudly lift up her shirt and show off her, "buh-buh buh-buh."
Her increased ability to communicate is extremely helpful for us. When she is hungry, she will walk over to her high chair and begin to climb up. Last night she woke up and wanted down out of her bed. She walked over to the fridge and said "Dee," her word for drink, to let Daddy know what she wanted. I love that she can tell us what she wants or needs!
Oh, and just in case you missed them, Micah posted some new pictures of Charlotte earlier in the week. Check them out!
