Haven't posted happy things the last couple of weeks, but it is not for lack of happiness. Charlotte and I have just been busy bees... first spending a couple of weeks in Indiana, now back home taking care of some business before the school year gets started up.
Perhaps this is true with other professions (accounting comes to mind), but teaching/education has such a defined rhythm. Lots of hustle and bustle with the beginning of a new semester. It reminds me of how much I enjoy having seasons. So, this has been an interesting time as we bid farewell to our summer home together, and welcome in a crazy new school year.
Here are a few happy things from our lives the last couple of weeks.
- Saw this on the Rose-Hulman campus when we visited Terre Haute. I'm not exactly sure why, but it cracked me up.
- The anniversary of my third year of marriage to Micah! (We're celebrating next week when we're a couple thousand miles closer to one another.)
- Making a dessert for Maradie's birthday that I think turned out pretty.
- Having dinner with my Momma and Charlotte at King Gyros.
- Seeing the Rusts and watching BFF's Charlotte and Lucy play. (Yes, those are matching outfits in the third picture.)
- Seeing lots of family from Micah's side, including Brother in Law Damian and new niece Lilly.
- A safe and uneventful car ride back home.
- The fact that that car ride home concludes our hours and hours of travel for a while!
- Dad and Maradie being really helpful this week when I'm home without Micah.
- A promising start to the new school year!
Lots to be happy about. Once Micah comes home, everything will be even better.
