Finally, the rest of the pictures from our trip to Yosemite! We were only gone two days, but it was such an adventure that it seemed much longer!
Since this post is so long, use the link below to see the rest.
We left Friday night (July 23rd) to drive to The Miner's Inn, our hotel. Charlotte slept the whole trip, which we thought was great.... until we arrived at the hotel and she refused to go back to sleep.
This was one of the worst nights we have had with Charlotte. Christine was the tough one and handled Charlotte most of the night, but none of us really slept.
The next morning, we had breakfast... Â and then went back to bed. This was the greatest thing ever. Here's Charlotte looking a bit groggy after waking up from our nap.
We had a late lunch at the River Rock Cafe. Our sandwiches were yummy and the relaxing meal was a great way to unwind after the previous night.
We then drove to Yosemite and spent the afternoon and evening there. The first thing we saw was Bridalveil Fall. It was crowded, but still very pretty. The paths to the waterfall base were all paved and handicap accessible. Very nice!
We then drove around the park for a little while, checking out some of the easier things to see.
Dinner was some mediocre cafeteria food, then back to our hotel for some sleep. Charlotte slept this time, so everyone was happy! Next morning, we drove back to the park, parking the car at some of the pretty views.
After a lunch of tacos, we were ready for a hike! Well, maybe more of a long walk. We headed off to Mirror Lake, since it would be easy to get to. On the way, we took a break by a little pool.
The water was freezing cold! We must be wimps after living in North Carolina for so long, because there were other people swimming in the water! Crazy people, but still... A bit more walking brought us to Mirror Lake.
After a long walk back, we were ready for a break and sought out ice cream, the true outdoorsman's salve for weariness. Here's a view from a nearby parking lot.
The people at the ice cream shop suggested making an orange float- like a creamsicle. We tried it and it was great! We did give Charlotte some and, of course, she liked it.
We had now seen the easy sights, and were ready to drive to another part of the park. Heading south, we stopped at the Tunnel View for the most stunning view.
Christine is always pretty...
...and the valley isn't bad either (bigger view).
We drove for to Glacier Point, stopping at some of the vista points to take a look.
Our last stop, just as it was getting dark, was Mariposa Grove, to see the giant Sequoia trees. After seeing a little bit, we started our long trip home.
