This was the last day of our vacation. We still had a few tickets left in our City Passes and we needed to use them up.
The planned adventures included: Golden Gate Park, the California Academy of Sciences, and the de Young museum. The park is giant and both of the museums are inside the park.
Charlotte and I almost got eaten at the park entrance!
First up, the de Young museum. Christine and I both enjoyed this art museum, much more than the Museum of Modern Art that we visited the day before. There were modern pieces, but plenty of traditional works also. Four thumbs up.

Mobius Basket!
Next up: the California Academy of Sciences. Aside from a really long name and a dinosaur in the lobby, this place also has an organic, local cafe with a wall made out of aquarium! Our food was excellent, and not extravagantly pricey.
There was a little play place for kids Charlotte's age in a quiet room in the back of the museum, er, academy. Christine and I had a chance to rest and Charlotte got to play with a possum!
This is all carpet!
The aquarium there was huge! Much better than the Aquarium of the Bay. Plus they had crazy monkey frogs.
The academy building was designed to be eco-friendly. In fact, it has a 'Living Roof' with plants and fancy water retention and solar panels. There is also an indoor rain forest.
Done with all the museums, we wanted to take a bus tour around the park. We all get on the bus, but I only had $2 and not the $4 we needed (cash only)! With gloomy faces, we got off and tried to decide what to do. All of a sudden someone yells from the bus. A couple saw our predicament and decided to give us $2 so we could ride the bus! How nice!
After the bus ride and a little walk around, we hopped on a city bus and went home.
