Micah and Christine

plus three

After the 4th last year, Christine bought a very patriotic dress on clearance. It turned out to fit perfect! Here we are snacking on an orange while we tried to decide how to spend Independence day.

We debated a long time if we should go downtown and see the San Francisco fireworks over the bay. The fireworks started late and we didn't know how Charlotte would handle it. We settled on staying in our neighborhood and seeing a local fireworks show on the street.

But first we needed something to eat. Time to grill out! We went to a local park to have dinner.

I hadn't grilled with charcoal in years, so I wasn't sure how it would turn out. Christine and Charlotte couldn't bear to watch me ruin the food, so they went and had some fun in the park.

The food ended up tasting great! We had hot dogs, potato salad, salt+vinegar chips, and some Honest Teas.

Our tummies full, we went down to Farley's Coffee shop, who was sponsoring the firework show. When we got there, a crowd was already gathering to have snacks and listen to the live music. We had some apricot pie and hot cider and hot chocolate (it was getting cold!). Charlotte got to walk up and down the street looking for doggies and people to say hi to.

After it got dark the fireworks got started! The show lasted for about 20 minutes and filled the whole street with light and sparks!

After the last fireworks went out, the buses could get through again. The show over, a sleepy Micah, Christine, and Charlotte went home to get some rest.
