Finally, the last day of our journey to St. Louis!
We got up and had breakfast. Thomas got to try a highchair, and he did pretty well. Then, we all went for a swim! Thomas didn't like it, but Charlotte was absolutely bubbling with joy at the chance to go swimming.
For our last adventure in St. Louis, we headed of to the St. Louis Zoo. The zoo parking lots were full, so we had to find parking in the surrounding park. Finding parking was terrible. At least there were pretty things to see as we wandered endlessly.
We finally made it in to the zoo and in the main lobby is a giant squid! This made my day.
After lunch, we were ready to see some animals! Like this extremely exotic...
...duck. Well, Charlotte liked it.
We walked through some exhibits and saw more animals (including a glimpse at a baby elephant).
But, looking at animals is hard work, so it was time to recharge.
A cold dessert and a misting, and it was off to the flamingos!
Charlotte and I took a ride on the merry-go-round and it was time to head home.
A long walk back to the car
Christine had read about the Blue Springs cafe, so on the way back, we stopped to try some of their foot high pies.
It was a delicious finish to a fun family vacation!
