Micah and Christine

We went on vacation with some of Christine's side of the family to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

The weather was great for playing at the beach. Charlotte was scared of the ocean at first, but after a bit she found that running away from the waves was super fun.

Wave time!

Getting ready to fly

On some days the waves were too big to play in, so we went to the nearby pool. Charlotte got to play in the kiddie pool, use a floaty in the big pool, and play with her cousins the whole time. Most of our time was spent with Charlotte, but it was much easier and more fun with a 3 year old instead of a 2 year old.

Playing in the pool is hard work! Time for a nap on Grandpa.

All of us had a great time on vacation. Charlotte got to play with her cousins and grandparents, while we got to sleep a lot more than at home and occasionally have someone else watch Charlotte.

Now were back home for a couple months of crazy work before the end of the summer!

This morning we built a block house. Charlotte took her dolls and made them jump on the "couches" in the house. Then she stood up and said, remember? remember? and ran off.

She came back with her book from the library, "If you give a pig a party." Charlotte has "If you give a mouse a cookie," and her Aunt Sarah got her, "If you take a mouse to school" and she is loving this series. Anyway, she carefully combed through her pig book until she found the picture she wanted- a scene of all the friends pillow fighting! This was very exciting, so she ran to her room, brought back two pillows, and we had a pillow fight! Daddy heard us having fun, so he grabbed a pillow and joined in on the fun.

Then Charlotte had us each sit on our pillow and conducted circle time. She asked us about our days, and then taught us about princesses and baskets.

Her imagination is expanding and I'm constantly amazed by my little girl. :)

Micah: I'm going outside to take a picture of something you don't normally take a picture of.
Charlotte: I've got a camera, too. Will you help me find it?
Micah: Okay, let's look in your toybox.
Charlotte: I found it! Here it is! I need to get shoes on. Daddy, will you wait for me?

My family is off to take pictures of the Venus transit.
