Well, maybe they are worth a look, maybe they are not. But here are a few links that have interested me lately.

Why Toddlers Throw Temper Tantrums
Ha... wonder why this one interested me?  Interesting to read this author's perspective.

Next up: The Trouble with Bright Girls
This article centers around the different kinds of praise given to young girls and boys, and how this can have an effect on girls. Gave me some things to think about when raising my little girl.

Then I have two links about this idea of "triangle of compromise." The basic idea is that when there are three competing priorities, you may have to choose just two. The first link is about this idea concerning buying real estate, the other is talking about purchasing food

Finally, about purchasing food. I will admit that I don't always purchase "happy meat," BUT, I have been trying to purchase more sustainable, delicious meats. So, here are some links related to sustainable seafood and humanely-raised pork.

When we went to the Aquarium of the Bay this summer, I picked up a couple of little wallet-size flyers entitled, "Seafood Watch" and "Sushi Watch." These little pocket guides are updated twice a year, so my July 2010 guide is already out of date. :) If you are interested in downloading your own, you can go to their website. They also have an iphone and android app which "brings you up-to-date recommendations for ocean-friendly seafood and sushi."

Finally, when the husband and I went on a mini-date to Southern Season a few weeks ago, a gentleman was there with salami samples. Since I married an Italian I have learned to love salami, and so one of our favorite evening treats is cheese, salami, and bread from Southern Season. Salami (and other italian meats) have been the type of food where I don't normally think about the animals' origins, but I was excited to hear about this "Artisanal Salumeria." We sampled their salamis and bought one to bring home- really good! So if you are interested in quality pork and excellent italian meats, check out www.ollisalumeria.com

I am taking a break from Statistics. My brain is full of non-parametric methods with funny names. I am the queen of finding random permutations now. Since I have spent all of my brain juice testing the significance of hypotheses, I'd just like to update with some pictures. 'Cause my kiddo is CUTE.

So, this week I want to take us back to basics a little. In recent weeks we have been eating a lot more meat. I'd like to decrease our meat consumption and up our veggie consumption. Healthier and yummy! (After writing this I added fish to the menu. It has been several weeks since we've had fish, so I'm looking forward to some salmon!)
