I am really behind on posting food updates... but we have had some good stuff! Here are some of our recent meals at home. Most of the veggies are from our CSA.
Be forewarned: I overuse the word "yummy" in the following post. Looks like I need to expand my vocabulary.
Be forewarned: I overuse the word "yummy" in the following post. Looks like I need to expand my vocabulary.
- Rice: With some sauteed green onion and garlic. Yummy.
- Baked kale chips: These were surprisingly tasty
- Vegetarian baked beans: From a can. Charlotte devoured them.
- Tomato, Mozzarella, and Basil salad: With basil from my very own plant!
- Caramelized turnips: These tasted totally okay.
- Snap peas, minty pesto, and ravioli: A variant of this recipe. We really enjoyed this- both Micah and I immediately went for seconds.
- Tomato onion tart: I kind of love this.
- Garlicky Broccolini: First time trying broccolini. This was a nice recipe. We threw in the leaves, too.
- Olli Salumeria hot salami, Mozzarella, Cheddar, Mapleview Creamery Butter, and warm potato scallion bread, all from Southern Season
- Strawberry buttermilk cake: We inhaled this stuff. Yummy.
- Steak: Micah grilled it and it was yummy.
- Smashed skin-on new potatoes: With Mapleview butter and some sour cream. Tasty.
- Wilted turnip greens with leeks and garlic: Also yummy.
- Beets with creme fraiche and wasabi: This sounded like such a good idea when the CSA lady told me about it, but mine just turned out weird. Spicy whipped cream with beet chunks, anyone? Fail.
