I will be honest- I've had a trying evening. Charlie has been extremely whiny, and was then very difficult to put to bed. As hard as I try to be patient and calm, I'm pretty far from perfect. So here is my opportunity to focus on the scads of other great things happening right now. Here are just a few:
- We had a fantastically awesome visit with Sarah, Jeremy, and Caden. Sarah did an excellent job of chronicling their trip, while I realized I had almost no pictures. Sadness. So, if you want to see things like our trip to Life and Science, Beach fun, Wilmington and a hilarious video of Charlotte, Deep-fried twinkies, or the NC Botanical Gardens, check Sarah's blog.
- Charlotte's vocabulary is increasing at an incredible pace. She knows animals and their sounds, is starting to identify some colors, and can more clearly convey her desires. We still don't understand everything she says, but we understand more every day.
- I am going to my first academic conference this Fall. I had a poster accepted at PME-NA and will be going to Reno! This is a small step but an important one if I hope to hold a tenure-track job some day.
- Micah and I made an awesome meal tonight. He grilled steak on our birthday gift grill from last summer and it was great.
- It appears that both of our cars are back in running order!
- I got my grades: two A's and a B this semester.
- Micah and I went to a coffee shop all by ourselves today while we waited to pick up one of our cars. It was fun.
- I turn 29 in two days, and my baby turns 2 in one week!
