As of late I have felt really compelled to see all of the super-cool sights and taste all of the diverse flavors of my local area. Since we may move in a little over a year, I have been trying to experience this area as a tourist.
Birch Beer is yummy...
This has been excellent because, well, it's fun! The Chapel Hill area is gorgeous and has all sorts of fun things to see and do. Most recently, I realized that the sweet little hippy town of Carrboro has remained largely unexplored. I mean, sure, I've been to Weaver Street Market and seen the random people dancing on the lawn. And the Red Hen, "a resale and gift boutique for moms and little ones," is my absolute favorite shop for getting stuff for Charlotte. (Including a recently purchased play kitchen! Pictures later!) Not to mention the PTA thrift shop in Carrboro is kind of awesome...
Okay, so I have some favorite haunts in Carrboro. But there is more to see! So last Friday I dragged Micah to a yet-untasted local deli for a lunch date. Despite his slight hesitation and a massively packed dining area, we loved Neal's Deli.
Handsome and happy husband
Pastrami sandwich
Reuben with potato salad
Watch out, Carrboro! Here we come!

Aww, I love little local places:) If you move, you'll get to explore a whole new city of restaurants!! Probably not as many as are near you now though!!
