This week has been Spring Break for Micah and me. This has meant that rather than our normal 60ish hours of work per week, we each only did 40ish hours of work. What a difference! We have been reveling in our time and have taken the opportunity to take some adventures.
On Thursday we had planned to go to the zoo, but all-day thunderstorms altered our plans. Instead we packed Charlotte up in the car and headed over to Raleigh.
We were off on an adventure, even if it was raining!
We decided to go to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. This museum is 4 floors, full of animals, and FREE! It was super nice!
Charlotte LOVED seeing all of the animals. She was especially entranced by the snakes and birds.
In the morning we went to a science demonstration. The speaker brought out a live bullfrog and Charlotte shrieked with delight. She proceeded to point and be very interested through the entire presentation with the frog. Then the presenter brought out a snake and Charlotte went crazy. She was SO excited that she couldn't contain herself and stay in her seat. We ended up leaving the presentation a little early to save the snake from Charlotte. :)
We then passed by this view- at the end of this walkway you can see the North Carolina capital building. (I think.) We left for lunch at one of the more famous restaurants in North Carolina, The Pit.
The food was tasty, authentic Southern barbecue and soul food. We enjoyed our meal.
By the end of the meal we were very full and tired.
It was Charlotte's nap time, so we piled back in the car and headed home. Fun day!
